With all the recent hoopla about quilts here and here, I thought I’d share recent pictures of little Zoe’s bed. Using a quilt given to us as a wedding gift by Alex’s grandparents (hand-stitched by Babushka), Zoe’s room takes on a nostalgic yet very current look. Take a peek at a few of my favorite designs below:
Kantha quilts seem to be getting all the attention at the moment, but introducing any traditional quilts into modern settings can evoke feelings of nostalgia, warmth and coziness.

Oh, that Babushka! Is there no end to her talents?!? Thanks for sharing.
I wish I had shown you my closet full of hand-made quilts my great grandmother and great aunt made and I kept. They are unbelievable, little women in dresses, butterflies, aplique and embroderies that would take me 100 years to do, and they were all done by hand, no machines. They are probably museum quality. I have a couple in my Cape digs. Makes me want to pull them out for Boston now that it’s cool in the evenings.
Barbara pull out those quilts and send some photos of them. They must be lovely!
I love the beekeeper’s quilt! (The Patchwork Star Flower link isn’t working, BTW.)
