'Til Monday: This is Big

We're moving to California!!

For quite a while, I've pondered on how to gently break the news to my local readers and how to blog about it effectively to my global ones.   Finally, I decided to just come out and "say it".  This is big.  This is huge.  California has always been a favored place to live for my husband and me (having done so for 6 years when we were first married).  Its dramatic landscape, vegetation and overall diversity are unparalleled.  We're excited to share all of that with our children.  The next few months are going to be very challenging, as we prepare both physically and mentally for the move.  I get quite exhausted just thinking about it, and with the passing days, can't help but ponder about all we're leaving behind.  Massachusetts will always be my children's birthplace and the home base for some very solid friendships.  Hope ALL of you think of this move as a brand new adventure and stay tuned to it.  Dare I say that no one will be disappointed?

'Til Monday

This weeks 'Til Monday is a collection of images:

1.  So excited to have my re-soled gold tone [cowboy] boots back from the cobbler.

2.  Seriously digging this beautiful striped sofa.

3. One should never underestimate the power of a  handwritten letter.

4. There's something so appealing about the warm comfort in this room   .

5.  For the love of salt.  I haven't tried black sea salt yet, but will one day.  For sure.

6.  An Airstream for our son Max so he~and we~give free rein to our adventurous spirits.

'Til Monday: On Monday

My fingers have not touched a computer keyboard in the past few days rendering me virtually wordless.  Having taken a break from blogging, facebooking and emailing has quieted my mind and I thoroughly enjoyed its new found calm.   Hope you had a good weekend and found time to just be.  Quietly.

'Til Monday: A First Love Letter

With Valentine's Day around the corner, I decided to share with you a card my daughter Zoe (who's only 4), received from a friend.  Not just an ordinary friend,  but Keanu, the boy she's  going to marry.  For her birthday, he cut out pictures of kittens, puppies, princesses and flowers and proceeded to stuff them in an envelope covered with the cutest stickers.  Zoe's first love letter.   I was reminded of the time and effort it actually takes to compile and write such a card and just how wonderful it is to receive one.   We should all sit down this weekend and write the people we love LOVE notes (however brief).  Are you in?!
