Stairway Photo Walls: 7 Images & 7 Tips

After seeing photos hung along a stairway in last week's The Way We Live, a reader requested more examples of this win/win decorating trend.     Take a look at these 7 images and get ideas on creating  your own stairway to family 'haven'.

Do you have a photo wall?  If yes, my readers and I would love to see it.  Send your images to debra@cocoonhome.com.  Many thanks!!

Instant Vintage: The Polaroid Picture

Our kids have become enamored with the Polaroid camera that recently resurfaced as a result of our move.  As my husband and I showed our children how to use it, we were reminded of many past Polaroid moments we treasured as a family.   I love that our children will get to experience the excitement and anticipation of taking a Polaroid picture.  Nowadays,  with photographs rarely printed and images often photoshopped to unattainable perfection, the graininess of a Polaroid photo is a visual treat reflecting a brief moment in time.

I wish everyone a very happy Thanksgiving replete with many unforgettable Polaroid moments!

Obsessing Over: Agate

Ever since I placed an agate ashtray that's been in my husband's family for years on our coffee table (as a decorative object), I've been mildly obsessed with the stone.  Its beautifully variegated colors and patterns are known to attract strength, protect from stress and ward off bad dreams.  Take a look at some of the ways you can adorn your home and yourself with this beautiful gemstone.

Obsessing Over: Beige Beauties

I can't seem to get these items off my mind and for good reason.  Take a look:

1.  Sesame noodles for this weekend's menu.

2.  A cozy vintage Moroccan runner (on our house wish list).

2.  Anthropologie's suede moccasin wedges; this Fall's go-to shoe.

4. A sexy club chair (another item on the wish list).

5. An all beige room .  It works because of the mix of textures in neutral shades.

6.  An ice bucket for our new bar.

Are you obsessing over anything at the moment?
