Similar to "cocoon," "nest" evokes feelings of coziness and warmth. This week's room inspiration is brought to us by a phoebe chick nesting in a friend's outdoor shower in Brooklin, Maine. While it waits for the strength and courage to fly I was able to get close to admire the beauty of the bird and the detail of the nest. Hence, the below room inspiration. The same way a bird mixes twigs, leaves, grass, feathers, and string to make its nest we mix different materials in creating a home office.
Oversized Sawhorse table from South of Market. Plenty of room for a computer, light, frames and organizational accessories.
Pottery Barn's Wingate Swivel chair.
This Angela Adams rug adds a modern twist to the room while keeping with the earthy tones.
Dwell Studio's long pillow reminds us of where the inspiration for the room came from.
A polished brass lamp to balance the rough desk top. Rowan Pharmacy task lamp form Restoration Hardware.
Ochre's Snooze chair lets you take a well deserved rest in style. The leather adds softness to the space.
Back to basics for storing work papers, love letters, or future blog entries. Steelcase cabinet found on ebay.
A place to display the nest or other natural curiosities. Cloche from West Elm.
