Out And About: the piece. store

Owner and buyer, Renee Sitzman opened the store in 2015 and has since been scouting and purchasing unique pieces that not only coordinate with each other, but update any East Bay wardrobe in need of revamping. I first meet Renee when I introduced The Cass Clutch to her. I'm thrilled to announce that she and the piece. store is now carry it. Take a look at some of images of the space and Renee's very special collection of carefully selected fashion pieces.
If you love fashion, but your schedule doesn't allow you to shop in San Francisco and beyond, you can now stay current and chic on a local basis. the piece. store can and will meet ALL of your wardrobe needs. Located at 3569 Mt Diablo Blvd. Lafayette, Ca.
The Way We Live: A Writer's Coastal Home
While photographing Kristen Philipkoski of Stylenik modeling her Cass Clutch, I couldn't resist taking a few photographs of her home. I suspected that it would be a cool space and was hoping to capture it on camera, which thankfully, she allowed. Tucked on a hillside in Pacifica, ocean views, crisp air and sea scents surround her cozy abode from every angle. Layered with textiles, colors and patterns, her home is styled much as she is: with a sophisticated, yet whimsical retro flair.
She recently featured The Cass Clutch on her blog, which was a definite honor for me as its designer. Kristen writes about luxury fashion, design and lifestyle. She's a regular contributor to Forbes, has written for Refinery 29, Racked and 7x7, and also reported on science and technology for Wired and Gizmodo. She has a flawless way with words, with California fashion and, quite obviously, with interior decorating.
Take a look at her home:
Many thanks, Kristen, for sharing your home with Cocoon Home readers and me.
Photo Shoot: The Cass Clutch
For a recent Cass Clutch photo shoot I collaborated with Marley Jones, who attends the Academy Of Art in SF to become a fashion stylist. After meeting and discussing my vision for The Cass Clutch's Spring look, I left for Marley to source the clothes, the location and the models. Make-up and hair stylist, Winnie Johnson, helped bring the vision to life. With me behind the lens, we created sophisticatedly urban [yet playful] scenes for The Cass Clutch. Take a look:
Designing, manufacturing and marketing The Cass Clutch allows me the opportunity to meet and work with many amazingly talented people. Marley Jones, you top the list. Thank you for pulling together the look and feel I was envisioning for The Cass Clutch this season.

Cass Clutch: Where You Headed, Pardner?
Since its successful Kickstarter campaign, The Cass Clutch has been shipped and received by campaign supporters throughout the country and just recently a big bag order was mailed to Niebuhr.01 in Berlin! There's a new color, an inside pocket and small, coordinated zippered pouches which will be released at the SF Renegade Craft Fair the weekend of November 19th and 20th. I'm also looking forward to Cass Clutch participating in the Childrens' Health Guild Holiday Boutique & Luncheon on December 2nd in San Francisco. A portion of proceeds from the event will help provide local children and their families with much needed healthcare services. I hope to see you at either one or both of these upcoming events.
In the mean time, check-out Cass Clutch's recent photo shoot. A vintage MG sets the stage for The Cass Clutch in Big Sur Green and Stinson Amber. The bag's simple shape, color and flexible design combined with the season's fashion showcases how The Cass Clutch is both classic and current. It's a bag built to last. Take a look:
Many thanks to Beverly Jane Peatross for modeling, to John for lending his car and to all who have and continue to support The Cass Clutch.
