So Pinteresting: My Favorite Bedrooms

I'm obssessed with pinning.  If you're not familiar with technology's latest time consuming feature,  click on the pinterest button on the upper right to see what I've been up too, late into my night...   It's a place where one can create a virtual mood board  by "pinning" images from the computer to boards that one categorizes.  For example,  the photos in this blog post are taken from my board labeled "to sleep".  People can  share images as well as follow each others'.  With that said,  take a look at 7 of my favorite "pinned" bedrooms.

The Master Bedroom and Bath Reveal

n It's here, the master bedroom and bath reveal.  Our new space brings lots of natural light, plenty  of room to move about, and a 6ft tub for the kids to bathe together in.  To see before photos click here.

All reveal photos masterfully taken by Jonas Kahn.  Many thanks!

West Elm's low bed frame was a perfect fit for our bedroom since I wanted the wallpaper to act as a headboard.  The bedding is from Dwell Studio and the wallpaper is from Steve's Blinds and Wallpaper.  The bronze reading lamps blend into the wall.

Materials that  once inspired the space are now defining it.   See the August 12, 2010 'Til Monday  post.

A wallpapered pocket door separates the two rooms.  The dresser found at Reside expands the bedroom into the bath and provides a place to showcase my newest obsession :  terrariums,  (read and see more about that tomorrow).  I love the fact that the bathroom fixtures are not visible from this angle.

Ikea's double vanity is great for the children.  The light above the sink adds a bit of whimsy, while Frida's portrait adds both color and drama.

One of the worse parts of the renovation was taking down our wall of photos.  They're finally back and actually,  now I have room for more.

Don't forget to check out Cocoon's Facebook page for more images.

Let me know your thoughts and comments on this latest reveal...

Chicago Class

This Chicago home is full of class and substance.  Neutral tones and textural elements help make it a serene abode.  Take a look at Chicago blogger Crystals design sensibilities.

I love the  mix of bold pattern and soft color in the bedding.

A leopard print pillow adds pizzaz to an antique  chair.

A rug in a second seating area adds a colorful tribal touch to an otherwise neutral setting.

Adorning an entry with a favorite piece of clothing should remind one of what to wear and how to wear it.  It's an easy and creative way to add detail and interest to one's space.

Just look in your closet for your next dramatic entrance.

Lovely space...

To Bunk Or Not To Bunk

To bunk or not to bunk?  I've been asking myself that question for a while now.  With 3 kids and little space it does seem to be the perfect solution. So I began searching for the perfect one.  Take a look at what I found.  And keep posted to find out what I decide to do.

Above,  the Austin bunk bed is available in different color combinations.  I'm loving the pink but I don't think my boys will.

The no nonsense design of the Norddal bunk makes it an easy to fit for any space.  When the kids start asking for their own room the beds can be divided into separate twin beds.

Nurseryworks Duet bunk bed had lots of cubbies to store trinkets, toys and blankets.  When you're ready to separate the bunks the cubbies become their own shelving unit.  I also like that the ladder is mounted flush with the bed, taking up no floor space.

The Uffizi bunk is made from sustainable wood and can covert to a loft bed with a youth desk underneath.

Originally, our master bed and bathroom renovation did not include the  kids' room but like with most projects, things do change.  Hence, the bunk search.  If all goes well and the floors dry by the weekend we can start moving back to our rooms.  I'll keep you posted on how we redecorate the children's area.
