Why Not Let Cocoon Style Your Holidays This Season?

Each Christmas season I add to our collection of tree ornaments.  Last year's mix of nature inspired curiosities and traditional ornaments will be combined with glittered gold garlands, bronzed birds and gilded crowns.  Take a peek at some of this year's additions:

A Cocoon Style Thanksgiving Table Setting

With my recent obsession with table settings,  it's a good thing my husband and I are hosting Thanksgiving dinner this year.  I can and will decorate to my heart's content.   With brown dishes, feathered accents, pinecones and a capiz shell runner , our holiday table will be both earthy and glamorous.  Take a sneak peek at how it all comes together:

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

A Seasonal Table Setting: A Collaboration With Didriks

Cocoon Home recently had the opportunity to collaborate on a seasonal table setting at Didriks in Cambridge, Ma.  Together we chose from an amazing selection of dishes, glassware  and linens to create a beautiful autumnal setting accented with botanicals.  To see how the concept and design came together click here.   Many thanks to everyone at Didriks it was a pleasure working with you.

Party Week Update: Unicorn Tea Party

Last  week all three of our children celebrated birthdays.  It was a week of parties.  First, we feted Zoe on her 4th birthday with a Unicorn Tea Party.   Crepe paper streamers, sugar sticks, fancy tea cups and lots of friends made for a perfect celebration.  Take a look at how the festivities came together:

Borrowing a child-sized table and chairs from the preschool provided perfect scale and whimsy to the setting.

Images from Zoe's party  invitations were cut out for coloring and sugar sticks were ordered for proper stirring.  As party favors, each guest took home his/her own tea cup and saucer.

The night before I wrapped our IKEA lamp in crepe paper to add color and length, so that it would appear closer to the kid-sized table.

Happy Birthday Zoe!

So Pinteresting: 7 Favorite Table Settings

This year, since I'm hosting Thanksgiving dinner, I want to ensure the table is both fun for the kids yet still elegant for adults.  Take a look at 7 of my favorite pins and find out what elements of each I'd like to incorporate into our holiday table.
