Tiny Atlas Quarterly's Newly Printed Annual Is Our Reader Giveaway

When I was first introduced to California based Tiny Atlas Quarterly, a lifestyle and travel online magazine, I spent hours happily lost in its virtual pages.  The beautiful photographs pulled me in and made me want to know more about each story depicted.  I'm  happy to announce  that Tiny Atlas Quarterly's  Printed Annual is now available!  Being an avid magazine collector, you can only image how pleased I will be to hold these amazing images in my hands and atop our coffee table.    I just ordered my copy  but you can win your very own by checking out the magazine here and commenting below.

To see more amazing imagery follow Tiny Atlas on Instagram and share your favorite travel photos using #tinyatlas!

Many congratulations to all the folks at Tiny Atlas Quarterly for creating and collaborating on a magazine that profoundly represents your passions, your talents and your dreams.

Full Circle

This week's end was just as exciting as its beginning. The notable difference is that I am now on the East Coast working on a project.  Being back in Boston as a finalist blogger in Apartment Therapy’s The Homies Awards seems quite appropriate, considering this is where I began blogging 4 years ago.  When I think about or scroll back to my older posts, I’m amazed at just how many and how much I’ve shared with you .  It’s been an amazing journey, one that I could not have stayed embarked on without you.  I'm SO grateful for your continued love and support!  Let’s keep this exciting gig going by voting one last time for Cocoon Home as your favorite Home Design and Inspiration blog right here.   THANK YOU!

I Heart Lake Tahoe

This time last year we brought our children to Lake Tahoe for the first time and they loved everything about it.  We ventured there again this past weekend, and apparently, their feelings hadn't changed one bit.  I've come to realize that I'm a mountain lover and so are our kids.  Oceanside, as awesome as it can be, is not where we as a family, dream to spend our leisure time by.  ONE day [hopefully soon] we'll own a chic A-frame cabin with a retro wood burning stove, lots of sheep skin rugs thrown about and plenty of space for visiting guests. Until then, take a look at a few of my favorite images from this weekend (one of them of my new favorite store).

Many thanks to HK and KK for giving us the opportunity to share the beauty of Lake Tahoe with our children one more time.  The only thing that would have made this week-end sweeter was to have them enjoying it with us!   XO

Fogo Island And The Lost Bird Project

A friend recently visited Fogo Island, Newfoundland, to reconnect with a old friend and to pay tribute to 1 of 5 Northern American birds that have been driven to extinction.  Artist Todd McGrain has created bronze sculptures of each of the birds as memorials and placed them at the sights they were last seen. Fogo Island is one of the places.  Not only is the remote island home to a bird sculpture memorial but also to the Fogo Island Arts Corporation.  Upon seeing photos of her trip, I was immediately taken by the story of The Lost Birds, and even more so by the island's beauty both in landscape and architecture.  Take a look:

Thank you, JG,  for sharing your amazing trip with me.  To learn more about The Lost Bird Project and the Fogo Island artists' residency program click here and here.
